While you have made some good suggestions, you also imply that VAs are not trusworty and are fly-by-night operations. In reality, the majority of us have extensive administrative experience in the corporate world prior to starting our businesses and many hold degrees in business-related fields. Not only can we type, we can manage teams and projects, coordinate marketing campaigns, design and update websites, set up and maintain shopping carts, manage calendars, plan events, coordinate travel, manage customer care, assist with the development of processes, manage email/snail mail, and so much more. Also, if you are dealing with a company for assignment of a VA, you are dealing with an employee, not a true VA who is an independent business owner.I encourage you and your readers to check out AssistU (www.assistu.com) or the Virtual Assistance Chamber of Commerce (www.virtualassistantnetworking.com) to find experienced, professional Virtual Assistants.

While I’m always glad to see clients promoting the Virtual Assistance industry, I cringe when I read posts like yours. What you are describing is an employee or telecommuter.Virtual Assistance, on the other hand, is an actual profession of administrative experts called Virtual Assistants. You would approach these administrative consultants in the same manner that you would approach an attorney, accountant or any other service provider. As independent vendors, Virtual Assistants determine their own rates, schedules, and policies and standards for working with clients. Virtual Assistants typically offer interested business owners a consultation. This is where the Virtual Assistant talks with a client to find out more about the client's business, explains how she runs her practice, and determines if there is a mutual fit.You might want to check out the Virtual Assistance Chamber of Commerce if you want to find QUALIFIED Virtual Assistant professionals. They have a directory and an RFP center as well.http://www.virtualassistantnetworking.com

Sorry, but you’ve got this wrong.
